The problem: Park rangers spent up to 8 hours a day driving to remote locations to check animal traps.
Our solution: We provided sensors and custom software to monitor the traps, configuring alerts to notify rangers via email and text when a trap is activated. This allows rangers to observe the traps remotely with minimal output, while meeting the legal requirements surrounding the frequency of monitoring.
The outcome: Increased time efficiency of up to 6 hours a day per staff member.
Accolades: Due to the success of this project we were awarded first place in the PWC Open Innovation Challenge.
